EVERYTHING APRIL

Okay, so some of these pictures are a little out of order. Oh well. I decided to post all of April into one lump. The Saturday before Easter we went to a friends house to have lunch and an Easter Egg hunt. She does this almost every year. Everyone brings a side dish and she supplies chicken. The kids love it. After that we hurried off to Berek's game. They have done real well this year. They are in second place but have a great chance at being #1. That night we came home and colored 3 dozen eggs. I was wondering what we were going to do with all those eggs. I am not a big fan of hard boiled eggs but it turns out my kids are. I always knew Berek was. He loves egg sandwiches and eats them for a week afterwards.
Easter morning we were off to church--no baskets till after. The girls all wore their new Easter dresses. Once we were home they searched for them. It was pretty fun to watch. Other than that......this month has been quite uneventful. Oh and I finally got my walking boot off. YEAH!

spring break '09 - CANCUN

Four months ago we decided to give the kids a little surprise for spring break, take them to Cancun. We went and applied for passports for them. A few months later the kids asked if they came. I didn't want them to catch on to anything so the little lies began. I told them that there was something wrong with their birth certificates so we couldn't get them their passports till that was fixed. I had all their things packed a week before. That was easy because we are still in semi-winter clothes and I was packing summer stuff. I had everything loaded in the car the day of, Jared got off early, and when the kids got home from school we went for a little RIDE. They were shocked to see us pulling into the airport. I turned around and said "Surprise, it's spring break and were getting out of here!" We had an overnight layover in LA so we decided to keep the destination a secret. They were going crazy all the way to LA. Finally Friday morning when we got to the airport to get to our final destination, we let them in on the secret. They were so excited. It was the best surprise I think I've ever pulled off. Once we got to Cancun there still was one last surprise waiting for them. As we walked to get our baggage, their Uncle John stepped out and asked them what they were doing there. They're jaws dropped. It was great. Here are a few of the pictures. We went to Tulum, did some snorkeling, went to a water park, swam with dolphins, took a cruise on a pirate ship, and much more.
