Happy Halloween

We had such a fun Halloween this year. My sister-in-law came down with her kids to go trick or treating with us. We finally got the house finished (with our decorating). I was really excited. There are some things you don't get to see in the pictures. We had two fog machines going, a thunder and lightening machine, some fun lighting, and of course the scary music. We have such a fun neighborhood at Halloween. And we counted more than 300 trick or treaters this year!!! I took the kids trick or treating and Jared sat in one of the front chairs and handed out candy. There were quite a few people that thought he was just another decoration till he moved. He loved it. Hope you all had a great Halloween. I look forward to more decorating for next year!!!

Pumpkin Time

It is finally time to carve our pumpkins. We've had them for a week, bought a few at Yokes and a few from a pumpkin patch. This is one of our favorites at Halloween time. We bought a kit this year that had plenty of carving utensils for all of us and even came with a book filled with different patterns. We had a total of 5 pumpkins to do. Each kid had their own and of course one for Dad. So here is our Family Night with our pumpkins.

A Rockin' Sunday

Well finally, after a long awaited time, I got my Young Woman Medallion. When I was in Young Woman forever ago, I completed my personal progress up all the way to being a Laurel, then I just stopped. Kind of stupid if you ask me, but anyway, it has always bugged me that I never finished it. I got the chance to do that once I was put into Young Womens again as a leader. Jared got to come up with me and put it around my neck. I loved that he was able to do that for me. It made for a pretty sweet day. I even got an awesome congrats not from my buddy passed to me when we sat down. I LOVED IT and that is why I have to tell you exactly what it said "GOODY GOODY". It cracked me up and made my day even more. Kind of silly but a note like that and my personality---that is my kind of friend. Love ya buddy :)
And to add to that we got to watch the PRIMARY PROGRAM. That, by far, is my most favorite sacrament meeting of the year. I love watching the kids up there. I guess this is only my second time watching it since I've had my kids in primary. I've always been up there doing it with them. I actually caught myself starting to sing with them a few times. It was a great program and the kids did great. Berek had a main part and by the end you could tell he was DONE. He's not one much for too much spotlight. I wish you all could have been here to see them. Heck, I wish we could record it for you.
It was definitely a great day!

HE'S BACK-----and other stuff

The 2 "EAGLE BLOXHAMS"

Enjoying the IPOD

As you can see from picture #1, Berek is back in action. He does have to have his foot taped before the games but he's back and he's BAD! He loves the game, what can you say. One more game, and if we win, we make it to playoffs, YEAH!

Now for picture #3. This girl takes after her Grandma Koch. They love many of the same things, some of them I wonder about. She loves the spray butter. I like it too, but not to drink. She steals it out of the fridge constantly and fights us as we try and confiscate it. But look at the joy it brings to her face. I can't believe it's not butter. She could replace Fabio, don't ya think.

Here is our Mac in the next pic. We decided last Friday, while the kids were off from school, to conquer the garage. It was a huge MESS. I couldn't stand it any longer so we got up early and had it done by 9:30 am. It was quick and almost painless and the kids did great.

Then my Tay. She loves watching and listening to the IPOD. I have to say, technology is still amazing to me. I never thought when I was her age, by my age now, we'd have such cool stuff. Who'da thunk????

The Gimp

Berek has recently obtained the nickname "GIMP" because of the great misfortune he had recently. I received a phone call last Monday morning from him. I did not understand the whole story so I talked to the school nurse. She proceeded to tell me that he had hurt his ankle during PE, playing baseball and wanted to know if he was "just a sensitive kid". That P***ed me off a bit, okay a lot. I know my kid and he is one tough cookie (a chocolate one). I told her that he is a pretty tough one and she should see him play football, also that if he was emotional, that was not a good sign.

I picked him up from school, he hobbling himself to the car. We went to the KGH Urgent Care where we had an awesome Dr. They took X-rays and said he wasn't quite sure if it was a bad sprain or a fracture by the growth plate and if it wasn't better by Saturday, take him into the Orthopaedic Dr. He went home with an air splint and crutches.

The next few days he got a little bit of harassing at school, kids thinking he was faking. By Wednesday when I picked him up he said it was getting worse and that he started feeling shooting pains by his ankle. SOOO....I got on the cell and called his Orthopaedic Dr, picked up the X-rays, and went to an appointment. With in a few seconds of looking at the X-ray they said he broke it by the growth plate and now he is currently in a walking cast/boot. It is a beast. He has the privilege of sleeping in it also. What a lucky guy.

Now for the real sad news........he can't play football. Now it was bad enough when he broke his collar bone not playing baseball, but football is his true love. I even had a tear on my way home from the Dr. Jared and I love watching the kids do things they love so this is a bummer for us too. He is still going to the practices and the games, helping out and just being a team mate still. Hopefully he will heal quick and before the 3 weeks are up he might get one last game in. Cross your fingers!!!!!
