Summer is here!!!

The weather has been wonderful here. It has been in the 80's for 2 weeks. About 3 weeks ago Tayler and Makenna talked to me about wanting to have a garden this year. We don't have a lot of room in our yard so I really didn't want to dig up any grass to do this. I asked them what they wanted to plant. Makenna wanted to plant tomatoes, even though she would never in a million years eat one, and Tayler wanted carrots. Bailey decided on pumpkins and a little herb garden that is in the house. We added a strawberry plant to that. So.....off I went to Lowe's to buy some wood to make planter boxes. I measured, cut, added a little wood glue, screws, and brad nails. When the girls got home I surprised them with their boxes, seeds, and plants. They planted their little garden. It is so exciting now to see that the tomato plants have doubled in size and our carrots and pumpkin seeds have now sprouted out of the soil. Now we just have to make sure Bailey doesn't pick them too soon.

Little hairs that are hard to see are our carrots.

We have enjoyed the sun lots. The girls decided it was time to get a little wet. They filled up the pool and brought the little tykes slide into it. They had a blast sliding into the water. Even our dog, Pixie had a turn.

EVERYTHING APRIL

Okay, so some of these pictures are a little out of order. Oh well. I decided to post all of April into one lump. The Saturday before Easter we went to a friends house to have lunch and an Easter Egg hunt. She does this almost every year. Everyone brings a side dish and she supplies chicken. The kids love it. After that we hurried off to Berek's game. They have done real well this year. They are in second place but have a great chance at being #1. That night we came home and colored 3 dozen eggs. I was wondering what we were going to do with all those eggs. I am not a big fan of hard boiled eggs but it turns out my kids are. I always knew Berek was. He loves egg sandwiches and eats them for a week afterwards.
Easter morning we were off to church--no baskets till after. The girls all wore their new Easter dresses. Once we were home they searched for them. It was pretty fun to watch. Other than that......this month has been quite uneventful. Oh and I finally got my walking boot off. YEAH!

Bailey said these were her band-aides. I guess that is pretty close.
