We have had such a busy time since the kids got out of school. Lots of fun company and activities. It started with the kids last day of school. Makenna was in the talent show at school. She played the piano and did an awesome job! My older sister and her 3 kids coming to visit the last day of the kids school too. They came up for about 5 days. We took them boating on 2 of the days and man do I have some crazy nephews. Michael, my oldest nephew, wanted to go as high and as fast as possible on the tube. When that didn't do it for him he decided to jump off the boat at 32 mph. I'd say he is a bit of an adrenaline junkie. At the end of their stay Makenna and Tayler started 3 days of cheerleading camp at Southridge. They loved it. Everyday they practiced a few cheers and then did a craft. It was fun and kept them busy for a few hours.
Two days after Kathy left my sister Andra and her 2 kids came up from Wisconsin. Their visit lasted 2 weeks but boy it flew by. The kids fed the ducks, which they thought was so cool, did a little swimming in a friends pool, tye dyed t-shirts, went boating...let's just say we were very busy. We also decorated the rose gardens for a friends wedding. That was a bit nerve racking. We didn't have our bit of excitement of Bailey going to the emergency room for stitches on her chin and Jared's forehead getting glued shut. They had a little collision. She was so brave and sat so still. I don' think any of my other kids would have been so good. She's a tuffy. The day after the emergency room visit was Jared's birthday. What a great present for him. He turnes a big "34". We tried to make it the most relaxing birthday we could because there wasn't much else we could do....it was a Sunday. His birthday cake this year was a Dairy Queen blizzard cake in his favorite flavor...REESES. The kids enjoyed it I think more than he did. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JARED. Andra left on a Wednesday and by Thursday afternoon we were off to Idaho.
We got to Pocatello Thursday night and stayed with my sister Kathy. Friday morning Jared, Berek, Makenna, me, Michael, Davis, and Steve got up early, got our bikes ready, and went riding at Lake Channel in American Falls. Berek and I had a bit of a hard time through all the sand. You pretty much have to floor the motorcycle to keep it from fishtailing the whole way. That was a bit hard to do and keep control. Finally we reached some hard ground and had some fun. (Berek and I) Jared, Michael, and Davis went jumping there bikes, a little bit too much for me right now. I loved watching them. We got back around 2:00 and left for family reunion #1. It was in the mountains so the kids had lots of fun. They went hiking, fishing, and made tye dye shirts. That night they stayed with Grandma and Grandpa while Jared and I, oh and Bailey too, went to the house to sleep.
Saturday was family reunion #2. That one the kids always love because they leave there with tons of candy and prizes. This reunion always has games for the kids to play and pinatas to break, and best of all a huge box of Lofthouse cookies, mmmmmmmmm.
After that reunion we headed up to Pocatello, about 3:00 and hit a huge hailstorm. They were the size of nickels and coming down so fast that we could barely see plus made the road a sheet of ice. Quite scary especially while pulling a trailer of motorcycles. We did reach Poky safely with some dings on the hood. Within 3 hours of getting there another storm hit. Lots and lots and lots of rain with the added hail. My sisters street had about a foot and a half of water. It was nuts. So what do you do when it is totally wet outside with a lake as the road??? Knee board!! Michael ran in the house and got his swim trunks on and ran out with the board and a rope. We hoked it to the back of our Yukon and went for a ride. It was awesome. Jared couldn't handle just watching so he took his turn at it too. The water was FREEZING. I don't know how they handled it.
Sunday morning we hit Lagoon. Ya, I know, it was Sunday, but it was our only free day we were there and we wanted a Lagoon trip. It was a good day to go. Hardly any lines. The longest wait was about 10 min. John, Jared, Michael, and Steve did the drag racing. Michael and I did the Sky Coaster. I have to say, this was the first time I didn't panic at the top. I loved the rush this time. Bailey loved all the kids rides. She's such a brave girl. I definately think we have a tomboy on our hands. We were all pooped by the end of that day.
Monday we headed home and the start of Scout camp and Activity day camp. Yes it has been a busy summer so far and lots more to come.
